Black Lives Matter Berlin solidarisiert sich mit Women in Exile &
Friends, welche in Erinnerung an ihre Freundin Rita Awour Ojunge zu
einer Gedenk-Kundgebung aufrufen!
Unsere Schwester Rita Awour Ojunge verschwand am 7. April 2019 und
hinterließ zwei kleine Kinder.
Sie war 32 Jahre alt und lebte seit mehr als 7 Jahre in Deutschland im
Lager von Hohenleipisch.
Es dauerte 3 Monate bis die Polizei ihre verkohlte Leiche im Wald in der
Nähe des Lagers entdeckte. Trotz der Berichte vieler ihrer Freundinnen und Nachbarinnen brauchte die lokale Brandenburger Polizei Monate, um überhaupt mit der Suche zu beginnen, und sie begann erst nach einem Anruf der Berliner Polizei. Bis heute gibt es keine Antworten auf die Frage, wer Rita getötet hat.
Das Lager in Hohenleipisch ist immer noch in Betrieb, obwohl die
Bewohner*innen nach dem Tod von Rita dessen Schließung gefordert
hatten.
In Gedanken und zu Ehren an Rita fordern wir:

Remembering Rita Awour Ojunge

Black Lives Matter Berlin stands in solidarity with Women in Exile &
Friends [3], who are inviting you all to join the memorial for their
friend Freundin Rita Awour Ojunge!
Our sister Rita Awour Ojunge disappeared on 7th of April 2019, leaving
behind two small kids.
She was 32 years old and had been living in Germany for more than 7
years in the Lager of Hohenleipisch.
It tool the police 3 months to discover her charred remains in the
forest near the Lager. Despite the reports if many of her friends and
neighbors, it took the local Brandenburg police months to even start
looking, and they only started after a call from the Berlin police. To
date, there are no answers as to who killed Rita and burned her body.
The camp in Hohenleipisch is still operational, though the residents
have demanded its closure after the death of Rita.
In remembering and honoring her, we demand:
JUSTICE FOR RITA!
CLOSE THE LAGER AT HOHENLEIPISCH!
NO LAGERS FOR WOMEN* AND CHILDREN!
ALLE LAGER ABSCHAFFEN!
Look after one another, keep a distance and wear your face masks!
